Company History and Background:
 Bushman Equipment builds custom-designed crane related lifting equipment for both mill duty and industrial applications. Products include coil and sheet handling equipment, upenders, pallet lifters, spreader beams, bottom blocks, tong grabs and jib and gantry cranes. Equipment capacity ranges from ½ ton to 50 tons. Product flexibility can be expanded with design features such as bar code readers, weigh scales, and coil protection options.
The West Bend Equipment Division of Bushman designs and manufactures custom material handling equipment for the steel, metal processing and packaging industries. West Bend's heavy duty and mill duty products include electric and hydraulic scissors lifts, hydraulic upenders, load inverters, mold and die carts, coil and roll handlers, work positioners, and track drive die and transfer cars. The focus of the line is to accurately position heavy material through multiple axes for the customer's unique application.
The Flaton Clutch Division of Bushman Equipment manufactures torque limiting clutches designed for high torque capability in slow speed applications. Flaton's compact designs have a high degree of repeatability and are available in a variety of configurations, including clutches with demountable hubs, extended hubs, flexible coupling, and others.
When a power transmission system is subject to sudden or excessive loads, Flaton Clutches prevent twisted shafts and broken gears, sprockets and chains. Once the unit is adjusted and locked, the clutch will slip automatically if the load exceeds the predetermined torque setting. When the overload is relieved, the clutch resets automatically and is ready to carry a normal load once again.
Flaton Clutches operate both clockwise and counterclockwise and function efficiently at moderate and low speeds to less than one rpm.
