| | .jpg) | THREADED SCREWS FOR METAL
TapTite® & Taptite® II
•Tri-lobular shape forms mating threads in metal •Threads are roll-hardened as they are formed •Reduces friction during drive
| | | |
| | .jpg) | Tap R®
•Taps its own perfectly mated threads without cross-threading •First screw to provide a 360 degree thread engagement •Removes paint and debris from the pilot hole

| | .jpg) | Thread Cutting Screws
Another standard fastener product invented by ITW Shakeproof®. A shank slot in the body of the screw threads provides true cutting action, eliminating a separate tapping operation and generating a perfectly mated thread that is reusable. Achieves the same holding power when compared to machine screws in tapped holes.

| | .jpg) | Cyclone® Tapping Screws
The Cyclone screw`s serrated helical shoulder actually bites into sheet metal, enabling the screw to absorb higher tightening torque, which adds to increased backout resistance.
A dramatically increased safe operating range (the difference between drive torque required and the minimum strip torque) makes the Cyclone Screw user friendly.
Stripping problems and the resulting scrap loss and rework are dramatically reduced.
The graph shown here illustrates the advantages of having a broader operating range that the Cyclone screw provides. The narrow range is apt to strip, whereas the Cyclone broad range accommodates common manufacturing variables such as operating technique or fluctuating r.p.m.`s in semi-automated or autmated equipment.
Operator sensitivity is less essential to quality fastening.

| | .jpg) | Hurricane Anti-Strip Screw
ITW Shakeproof`s Hurricane anti-strip screw creates a positive torque brake when driven in thin sheet metal, aluminum or plastic; assuring maximum installation efficiency without incurring the rework associated with stripped screws.
The Hurricane is available in all conventional head styles without affecting torque settings
Performance is optimized with standard head dimensions meaning you use standard clearance and standard weight.

| | .jpg) | GX® Self-Extruding Screws
With its eccentric thread section, this screw extrudes thin sheet metal upward and downward, significantly increasing both the thread engagement area and torque absorption capability.
The under head grounding ring feature creates a positive ground by cutting through paint and other coatings.
The scraped paint collects and seals around the grounding ring to effectively protect the unfinished surface and inhibit corrosion.
The multiple thread engagement produces a positive ground, meeting U.L. requirements for grounding applications.

| | .jpg) | Sems®
The basic Sems preasSEMbled screw and washer is another major fastening invention introduced by Shakeproof that has changed industry`s assembly methods.
All types of washers- conical, flat, tooth, helical and many others- can be preassembled to all types of screws.
The many important advantages of screw and washer assemblies have contributed to the popularity of moving to Sems screws throughout the years:
• Eliminates multiple part hand assemblies and dropped parts • Reduces part numbers and inventories • Increases assembly efficiency and therefore productivity
Many assembly applications are solved by utilizing different washer styles.
Using flat, tooth or helical washer Sems are most common.
Flat washers span large holes, protect fragile surfaces and distribute load.
External tooth lockwashers are preferred for preassembly to provide maximum torsional resistance to removal rotation whereas internal tooth lockwashers are ideal when the screw head and clearance are small.
Helical washers are often used on larger diameter screws and bolts where high torques or heavy loads are involved and hardened surface applications where confined space must be accommodated.
A wide variety of other Sems combinations can be provided for applications involving high torques, load distribution, electrical grounding, fragile materials, wire termination or spanning larger holes.

| | .jpg) | Cyclone® Teks®
The Cyclone Teks combines a self-drilling point and an undercut head with a serrated helical shoulder to absorb high driving torque, making it the complete fastener for sheet metal thicknesses ranging from .015" to .110".
The unique combination of metal drilling and torque absorption provides a greatly increased safe operation range between drive and strip torques
A chart is available that compares the drive/strip torque between a standard Teks and Cyclone Teks using #8 and #10 x 1/2 Hex Washer Head parts.

| | .jpg) | Stems®
Designed for plastic-to- metal assembly applications, the preassembled washer has a unique standoff column that bears against the metal tapping plate, protecting the bearing surface of any soft or resilient mating material.

| | .jpg) | SSX Field Ready
This high performance screw adds additional value to your products. The unique thread have been developed utilizing the ITW WERCS® thread forming technology.
Threaded fasteners can be pre-assembled to any given position. Now fasteners can be assembled in an "open" or "Field Ready" position.
The sinusoidal thread pitch can be positioned at any place along the thread of the fastener and can be controlled by both amplitude and duration.
The SSX Field Ready: • Functions in standard tapped holes without damaging mating threads • Is Reusable with consistent, repeatable performance • Is available in standard machine screw sizes
| | | |
| | .jpg) | SSX SinuLOC
The SSX SinLOCTMaddresses the continuing need to enhance a machine screw`s ability to stay secure for the life of the joint.
Prevailing torque lock nuts and a nylon patch or pellet are a popular and costly solution until now. The SinuLOC screw utilizes the ITW WERCS® thread forming technology to provide you with a machine screw that stays secure without the added cost associated with a nylon patch.
A precision curve added to the helix of the screw threads is placed at any place throughout the body of the screw threads.
The calculated combination of pressure and location ensures that there is added performance with no damage to the threads.
The unique, tunable feature does not deform the pressure flank of the female thread, therefore it can be reused and create predictable torque tension in the joint.

| | .jpg) | TEKS® Self-Drilling Screws
These unique Shakeproof developed fasteners drill their own perfectly sized holes in thin sheet, thick metals and non-metallics.
Teks form close mating threads and produce a complete fastening system in a single operation. This total performance self-drilling fastener reduces labor and is ideal for automated assembly
Other features include simplifying and improving fastening designs and reducing or eliminating the need for drill bits or taps and cuts expensive tolling costs.
