 Hi-Lo®

These fasteners have a double lead high and low thread form that increases performance in a broad range of low density materials such as plastic, wood masonite and particle board. The high thread is sharper than a conventional thread, having a 30° included angle as compared to the conventional 60o included angle. The low thread has the 60° included angle and a height that is 40-50% of the high thread height.

As more material remains between the threads, the Hi-Lo absorbs more torque without stripping. With the dramatic increase in the safe operating range (drive vs. strip torque), the Hi-Lo can be driven easily and consistently without stripping problems and without constant fine tuning of power drivers.

The Hi-Lo screw thread configuration has a smaller diameter than a conventional screw. The high threads make a deeper cut into the materail leaving a greater volume of material between the threads. There is also a greater amount of material in contact with the high, sharp thread and the axial shear area is increased. All of this contributes to greater resistance to pull-out and a stronger joint.

 Hi-Lo® Plus

Both the high and low threads have a sharper (30°) included angle than conventional threads and incorporate a 45° angle step on the trailing flank of the threads. These slim threads penetrate deeply without weakening the material through stress-caused fracturing.

In forming mating threads in the work piece, the unique Hi-Lo Plus screw accommodates the displaced material between the widely spaced high threads, actually increasing thread engagement while minimizing outward pressure.

The alternating high and low threads effectively engages in a wide range of low density materials. The versatility of the Hi-Lo Plus fastener allows you to standardize more applications, specifying the Hi-Lo Plus in soft or hard plastics, die cast metals, particle board and wood.

The heads on Hi-Lo Plus fasteners are made to standard ANSI/ASTM dimensions.

 Plastite 60-1®

Plastite tri-lobular thread rolling screws are designed for fastening in a wide range of thermoplastics.

The 60o profile on the Type 60-1 screw penetrates deeply into the work piece, absorbing higher torques without stripping and resisting pullout forces.

As threads are formed, the plastic material recovers and fills in around the tri-lobular threads, providing resistance to loosening and assuring a secure assembly.

BosScrew™ -
Engineered to Not Loosen Over Time, With Temperature Changes, Under Vibration.

Designed Utilizing ITW`s WERCS® Technology, the BosScrew features a pressure flank on it`s threads

The BosScrew pressure flank feature:
• Interlocks with the plastic
• Eliminates need to add a flat washer
• Eliminates the need for metal inserts
• Allows for less thread engagement
• Utilizes standard clearance hole diameters
• Allows for increased clamp load at assembly
• No need to add a spring component to the joint
