BosScrew™ -Engineered to Not Loosen Over Time, With Temperature Changes, Under Vibration.
Designed Utilizing ITW`s WERCS® Technology, the BosScrew features a pressure flank on it`s threads
The BosScrew pressure flank feature: • Interlocks with the plastic • Eliminates need to add a flat washer • Eliminates the need for metal inserts • Allows for less thread engagement • Utilizes standard clearance hole diameters • Allows for increased clamp load at assembly • No need to add a spring component to the joint
| | | |
| | .jpg) | Plastite 60-1®
Plastite tri-lobular thread rolling screws are designed for fastening in a wide range of thermoplastics.
The 60o profile on the Type 60-1 screw penetrates deeply into the work piece, absorbing higher torques without stripping and resisting pullout forces.
As threads are formed, the plastic material recovers and fills in around the tri-lobular threads, providing resistance to loosening and assuring a secure assembly.

| | .jpg) | Hi-Lo®
These fasteners have a double lead high and low thread form that increases performance in a broad range of low density materials such as plastic, wood masonite and particle board. The high thread is sharper than a conventional thread, having a 30° included angle as compared to the conventional 60o included angle. The low thread has the 60° included angle and a height that is 40-50% of the high thread height.
As more material remains between the threads, the Hi-Lo absorbs more torque without stripping. With the dramatic increase in the safe operating range (drive vs. strip torque), the Hi-Lo can be driven easily and consistently without stripping problems and without constant fine tuning of power drivers.
The Hi-Lo screw thread configuration has a smaller diameter than a conventional screw. The high threads make a deeper cut into the materail leaving a greater volume of material between the threads. There is also a greater amount of material in contact with the high, sharp thread and the axial shear area is increased. All of this contributes to greater resistance to pull-out and a stronger joint.

| | .jpg) | Hi-Lo® Plus
Both the high and low threads have a sharper (30°) included angle than conventional threads and incorporate a 45° angle step on the trailing flank of the threads. These slim threads penetrate deeply without weakening the material through stress-caused fracturing.
In forming mating threads in the work piece, the unique Hi-Lo Plus screw accommodates the displaced material between the widely spaced high threads, actually increasing thread engagement while minimizing outward pressure.
The alternating high and low threads effectively engages in a wide range of low density materials. The versatility of the Hi-Lo Plus fastener allows you to standardize more applications, specifying the Hi-Lo Plus in soft or hard plastics, die cast metals, particle board and wood.
The heads on Hi-Lo Plus fasteners are made to standard ANSI/ASTM dimensions.

| | .jpg) | THREADED SCREWS FOR METAL
Tap R®
The first Thread Forming Screw to provide you with 360o thread engagement.
Eliminate Drive to Strip ratio problems & retain more of your initial tightening torque when compared to tri-lobular type screws
Benefits of the Tap/R thread forming screw include: • Re-usability in the same hole without cross threading • Reduces drive torque while increasing strip torque • Rapidly locates pilot holes due to unthreaded relief areas • Removes paint and porcelain from pilot holes
| | | |
| | .jpg) | TapTite® & Taptite® II
The unique "tri-lobular" shape of the Taptite screw roll forms a mating thread in an unthreaded pilot hole.
The threads are work hardened as they are formed, providing a strong joint or assembly.
By elastic recovery, the metal fills in behind the triangular lobes to provide maximum contact and a secure assembly.
The tri-lobular shape of the screw shank: • Reduces friction during driving to assure low driving torque • Generates a prevailing torque that exceeds the level of a locking screw
| | | |
| | .jpg) | Thread Cutting Screws
Another standard fastener product invented by ITW Shakeproof®. A shank slot in the body of the screw threads provides true cutting action, eliminating a separate tapping operation and generating a perfectly mated thread that is reusable. Achieves the same holding power when compared to machine screws in tapped holes.
| | | |
| | .jpg) | Cyclone® Tapping Screws
The Cyclone screw`s serrated helical shoulder actually bites into sheet metal, enabling the screw to absorb higher tightening torque, which adds to increased backout resistance.
A dramatically increased safe operating range (the difference between drive torque required and the minimum strip torque) makes the Cyclone Screw user friendly.
Stripping problems and the resulting scrap loss and rework are dramatically reduced.
The graph shown here illustrates the advantages of having a broader operating range that the Cyclone screw provides. The narrow range is apt to strip, whereas the Cyclone broad range accommodates common manufacturing variables such as operating technique or fluctuating r.p.m.`s in semi-automated or autmated equipment.
Operator sensitivity is less essential to quality fastening.

| | .jpg) | Hurricane Anti-Strip Screw
ITW Shakeproof`s Hurricane anti-strip screw creates a positive torque brake when driven in thin sheet metal, aluminum or plastic; assuring maximum installation efficiency without incurring the rework associated with stripped screws.
The Hurricane is available in all conventional head styles without affecting torque settings
Performance is optimized with standard head dimensions meaning you use standard clearance and standard weight.
| | | |
| | .jpg) | GX® Self-Extruding Screws
With its eccentric thread section, this screw extrudes thin sheet metal upward and downward, significantly increasing both the thread engagement area and torque absorption capability.
The under head grounding ring feature creates a positive ground by cutting through paint and other coatings.
The scraped paint collects and seals around the grounding ring to effectively protect the unfinished surface and inhibit corrosion.
The multiple thread engagement produces a positive ground, meeting U.L. requirements for grounding applications.

| | .jpg) | Sems®
The basic Sems preasSEMbled screw and washer is another major fastening invention introduced by Shakeproof that has changed industry`s assembly methods.
All types of washers- conical, flat, tooth, helical and many others- can be preassembled to all types of screws.
The many important advantages of screw and washer assemblies have contributed to the popularity of moving to Sems screws throughout the years:
• Eliminates multiple part hand assemblies and dropped parts • Reduces part numbers and inventories • Increases assembly efficiency and therefore productivity
Many assembly applications are solved by utilizing different washer styles.
Using flat, tooth or helical washer Sems are most common.
Flat washers span large holes, protect fragile surfaces and distribute load.
External tooth lockwashers are preferred for preassembly to provide maximum torsional resistance to removal rotation whereas internal tooth lockwashers are ideal when the screw head and clearance are small.
Helical washers are often used on larger diameter screws and bolts where high torques or heavy loads are involved and hardened surface applications where confined space must be accommodated.
A wide variety of other Sems combinations can be provided for applications involving high torques, load distribution, electrical grounding, fragile materials, wire termination or spanning larger holes.
