| | .jpg) | Special Production Technology for Ultimate Quality
The production and machining steps performed on substrates and electronic materials are as diverse as their range of applications. Over the decades, CeramTec has refined these individual processes and methods to near perfection. Quality-monitored operating sequences conforming to DIN ISO 9000 form the basis of a manufacturing process which provides customer specific parts with the same precision and reliability as volume-produced standard parts. Our improvement management assures continuous process refinement and ongoing increased efficiency. The result is a range of cost-effective, reliable manufacturing processes that benefit your products. The substrates used for hybrid circuits are primarily of the tape-cast type. This enables quality efficient casting of various thicknesses of "green" tapes which are then stamped and sintered, and in some cases, subsequently lasered.

Using production lines with a very high degree of automation and custom-built tooling, CeramTec produces dry-pressed substrates to customer's specification in large production volumes. Standard dimensions range up to 88.9 x 88.9 mm (3.5"x 3.5"). In special cases, substrates up to 115 mm x 115 mm (4.5"x 4.5") can be produced upon request. The dry-press process allows the manufacture of substrates with holes, snap-lines, or irregular outside contours in almost any thickness from 0.63 mm to approx. 10mm. Even different thicknesses within the same substrate can be produced. The dry-pressing method is suitable for making substrates of highly complex geometries, including through-holes and blind holes of 0.4 mm minimum diameter.

• High process reliability • Good component reliability • Low reject rate • Vast application potential
Rubalit® 708 HP (High Performance) has been developed from the world renowned and successful Rubalit® 708 S. This improved material shares the same chemical composi-tion, is produced on the same plant and using the identical production technologies as in the case of Rubalit® 708 S. As a result, you can use proven paste systems and product licensing is a lot easier. The improved Rubalit® 708 HP substrate generation is remarkable for its consistency in terms of thermal cycling resistance, thermal shock resistance, bending strength, surface quality, thermal conductivity even under extreme conditions. The very high and consistent surface quality, making the substrate even suitable for thin-film applications, ensures in the case of electrical resistors, a lower noise factor, more stable resistor values, enhanced resistance to electrical shock loads, and greater reliability under laser trimming conditions. As a result, Rubalit® 708 HP substrates combine added integration density with greater power density. Rubalit® 708 HP is ideal for high-performance electronic applications, for hybrids and sensors, in the telecom, medical, aero-space, and consumer goods industries.
