Cartridge and Plate-Magnet Liquid Traps offer continuous permanent-magnet protection against ferrous debris, capturing even small ferrous particles and weakly magnetic or work-hardened 300 series stainless steel fragments. Bunting’s Cartridge-Style Traps feature high-energy Rare Earth magnets that have demonstrated the highest pull strength in the industry using industry association pull-test procedures.  Bunting Magnetics Co.’s economical Plate Magnets have been upgraded with all-stainless-steel housings and redesigned Ceramic and Neodymium loads that provide up to three times the gauss and holding force at the magnet surface. This combination of strong reachout and holding forces enables Bunting Plate Magnets to capture and retain tramp iron and ferrous fines even in dense, high flow rate applications.  Hump Magnets manufactured by Bunting Magnetics Co. provide reliable protection against tramp iron damage to processing equipment. They are used in the food, chemical, plastics, textile, and other industries to remove ferrous fines, as well as large pieces of tramp iron, from many types of dry particulates and clumpy, hard-to-flow material. Bunting Hump Separators come in both Hump and Half-Hump configurations and can be installed in enclosed flow lines or on processing machines. They are available either with permanent Ceramic magnets or with high-energy permanent Rare Earth magnets that are especially well suited for capturing and removing fine metal particles and weakly magnetic materials. Pneumatically controlled self-cleaning models are available to allow automated or remote operation.

Neodymium 50 magnets were recently developed and are the most powerful permanent magnets available in separators.
