 Plate Magnets

Bunting Plate Magnets install easily in enclosed flow lines to remove ferrous fines, as well as large pieces of tramp iron, from many types of free-flowing and pneumatically conveyed material. They can handle powdery, moist, lumpy, and abrasive products and large debris that might choke, bridge, or cause rapid wear in cartridge-based separators.

Plate Magnets can also be installed above conveyors or below conveyor drive pulleys to capture contaminants as material drops from open belts. Standard installation kits include a pre-drilled hinge, spacer bar, latch, and other hardware to ensure easy mounting.

All Stainless Steel Design:
All Bunting Plate Magnets have 100% stainless steel exteriors to resist the corrosive effects of mild acids, moisture, and washdown. Magnetic pole faces and tapered step faces are 410/416 SS. Everything else is 300 series stainless steel. Neodymium Plate Magnets are continuously welded to make a watertight seal that also protects against corrosion. Redesigned cast stainless steel hinges have smooth, easily cleaned surfaces and can be quickly disassembled for thorough pin-and-cotter sanitizing.

 Plate Magnets

• Versatile plates mount above or below product flow.
• Ideal for 30° to 60° angled spouting.
• Select from three face designs to serve your application.
• High-energy Ceramic magnets capture most common ferrous debris.
• Lightweight Rare Earth magnets offer top magnetic power.
• Choose magnet strengths and sizes to match your requirements.
• Durable stainless steel construction.
• Hinged plates swing out for easy cleaning.
• Self-cleaning models save downtime and labor.

 Suspended Plate Magnets

Suspended Plate Magnets for Installation above Conveyors Bunting Suspended Plate Magnets are placed above open conveyors to snap up ferrous objects and fines found in grains, feedstuffs, raw and processed food products, dry chemicals, and other particulates.

 Suspended Plate Magnets

Our Suspended Plates come in sizes matched to common belt widths and are outfitted with eyebolts to aid in handling and overhead suspension. Our heavy-duty model's high-density permanent Ceramic magnet provides an impressive half-pound pull at 9 inches.

Medium & Light Duty Models
Lighter-duty Suspended Plate Magnets offer cost-effective choices for applications with lower product density, lower conveyor speeds, or thinner burden depths. Upgrading our lightest model with Rare Earth magnets lets you separate metal fines from thin layers of product conveyed on flat belts at under 100 fpm.

 Suspended Plate Magnets

• Pull ferrous tramp from flat-belt and trough style conveyors.
• Powerful Ceramic magnet reaches deep into conveyed material.
• Sturdy free-standing bolt-together support frame offers one convenient mounting option.
• Optional stripper plate slides out for fast, easy, out-of-the-way cleaning.

 Plate Housing Magnets

Plate Housing Magnets Give You Choke-Free Protection:
Bunting Plate Housing Magnets resist bridging and choking to remove tramp iron and ferrous fines from flow-resistant bulk materials. The stainless steel housings mount easily to enclosed spouting or directly on processing equipment. Optional square, rectangular, and round adapters can be supplied to your specifications for ease of installation. A baffle at the top of the housing helps break up clumps and directs product flow over the unit's two powerful Plate Magnets.

Three Face Plate Styles:
Bunting Plate Magnets come in three faceplate styles and several magnetic strengths to cover a wide range of applications. They are available either with permanent Ceramic Plate Magnets or with high-energy permanent Rare Earth Plate Magnets that can capture fine metal particles and slightly magnetic debris from powdery, moist, clumpy, or abrasive materials that might choke or wear cartridge-based separators.

 Plate Housing Magnets

Self-Cleaning Magnets Cut Downtime and Labor:
Self-Cleaning Plate Housing Magnets come in both manual and pneumatic models. The Manual Self-Cleaning Model has an interior drawer that carries captured debris out past the Plate Magnets for safe, convenient disposal as the drawer is pulled from the housing. Pneumatic Self-Cleaning Models can be installed without regard to accessibility: They operate at the touch of a remote switch or by a Bunting-engineered automated control package. In the standard configuration, the Plate Magnets are hinged to the housing like doors and swing out for easy cleaning.

 Plate Housing Magnets

• Excellent for coarse, fluffy, and other flow- resistant materials that bridge in grates and drawer magnets.
• Compact design fits easily into limited spaces.
• Mount in spouting or on processing equipment.
• Custom transitions for round, square, or rectangular spouting.
• Rugged stainless steel construction.
• Available with Ceramic or powerful, lightweight Rare Earth magnets.
• Hinged plate magnets swing out for manual cleaning.
• Self-cleaning models cut downtime and labor expense.

 Grinder Plate Magnets

Your regrind operation runs an extra risk of tramp metal contamination. Now you can protect it easily and economically with Bunting Grinder Plate Magnets. They install easily in your granulator’s feed tray.

Each Grinder Plate Magnet is manufactured with a rugged cast aluminum frame. Back plate and magnetic pole face are made of mild steel. Specify grinder feed tray dimensions when ordering. To install, just cut an opening in the feed tray and bolt the pre-drilled flange of the magnet to the tray, using the holes and hardware provided.
