Shapes include round and rectangular bars, U-shaped, horseshoe, channel, ring, disc, plug, and rod. Alnico magnets are the ideal choice for applications exposed to operating temperatures above 400º F (204º C). Alnico magnets derive their name and their magnetic properties from the aluminum, nickel, and cobalt of which they are made. They have the widest range of temperature stability of any standard magnetic material. Other characteristics include high induction as well as relatively high energy.
