The patented* Cheminert® M Series liquid handling pump is a syringe-free pump capable of delivering a bidirectional flow to six orders of magnitude. The M Series is a positive displacement pump, which means that it is self-priming and tolerant of any gas which may find its way into the fluid lines. Since there is no separate fill cycle, the pump can be operated continuously, and volumetric capacity is limited only by time.
Two models are offered – the M6 with a flow range of 5 nl/min to 5 ml/min (10 ml/min intermittent), and the M50 with a range of 1 µl/min to 25 ml/min (35 ml/min intermittent).
RS-232 and RS-485 communication protocols are incorporated into the microprocessor-driven controller. (USB interface requires an adapter.) While the standard package includes software and instructions to run the pump as a stand-alone unit, the pump can be used in conjunction with a stream selection valve to enable automated solvent selection.
Two software packages are included: M6-LHS software for everyday lab usage under the control of a PC, and IMS (Intelligent Motions System) software for more advanced control of system parameters. Most users will utilize the M6-LHS software, which features standard liquid handling terminology and an integrated valve control package in a familiar Windows format. | |
