 NM - Liquid Level Transducer

The NM series of level transducers is applicable to a wide variety of industrial level indicating applications. A reed chain and travelling float design allow the system to function independently of liquid electrical properties, temperature, pressure, foaming or the presence of vapors. With proper float weighting, the system can be constructed to detect the interface level of two liquids with dissimilar specific gravities. A selection of materials ranging from stainless steel, to plastic, to Teflon®, provide compatibility with a large variety of process liquids.

 NBK-M - Economical Level Indicator

The Mini-NBK bypass level indicator provides many of the unique features of our standard NBK series but at a fraction of the cost. Like its predecessor, the Mini-NBK uses KOBOLD’s revolutionary ring magnet float design allowing the user full flexibility in adding roller indicators, switches and other options anywhere on the periphery of the bypass tube. The use of lighter gauge materials and a streamlined manufacturing process makes the Mini-NBK a very economical choice for low pressure level measuring applications.

 NUS - Ultrasonic Level Transmitter

The NUS series ultrasonic level transmitteris the ideal choice for continuous noncontact level measurement in liquids or coarse grained, or pelletized solids. This non-contact level measurement technique allows reliable measurement of dirty, viscous, and coating medium. The NUS series boasts an extremely narrow beam cone allowing for measurements in tall tanks while minimizing the chances of problems due to obstructions in the tank.

 KPW - Submersible Pressure Transducer

KOBOLD KPW series transducers provides superior performance at affordable prices. Utilizing the same pressure sensing technologies and advanced manufacturing techniques as the rest of our KP line, the KPW can achieve accuracies of ±0.12% at pressures to 300 PSIG. All this with our typical high shock resistance, excellent long term sensor stability and CE compliant noise immunity.

 NWS - Vibrating Level Switches

KOBOLD’s NWS level switch works on the vibrating tuning-fork principle. A piezoelectric crystal is matched to the frequency of a tuning fork in air, and used to set the fork vibrating. When the fork becomes immersed in a liquid, its resonant frequency changes. The piezoelectric crystal is then no longer matched to the tuning fork. This causes the vibration to stop. The NWS’s internal electronics detects this change and signals an alarm condition. The NWS is compatible with non-coating and some coating media whose viscosities can range up to 5000 cSt.

NEK - Compact Conductive Level Switch

The NEK series compact conductive level switch is an excellent choice for monitoring the level of conductive liquids in tanks. The NEK series conductive level switch senses liquid level by applying a low AC voltage to a set of stainless steel electrodes. When a conductive liquid is present a small current will flow between the electrodes, resulting in switch activation. The NEK compact level switch is available with either a Ryton or polypropylene body with 316-Ti stainless steel electrodes standard.

 NKP - Level Switch

KOBOLD’s NKP is a highly cost effective level switch. The unit is a available in either polypropylene or PVDF construction for maximum compatibility with aggressive liquids. The NKP is distinguished by its instant response, small footprint and high capacity reed switch.

NMF - Level Switch for Bulk Media

KOBOLD NMF membrane level switches allow monitoring of dry bulk goods in storage vessels. They may be used to indicate full and empty conditions or load demand for powder-like and granular bulk materials. Any free flowing material with a grain size up to 30 mm (1.2 inches) and density ranging from 26-220lb/ft3 is suitable for use with the NMF. The NMF is a simple pressure sensitive switch with pressure transmitted to an internal sensor via an elastomer, or thin metal, membrane.

NCS - Magnetic Float Switches for Liquids

All KOBOLD level switches use a hermetically sealed reed contact actuated by a magnet in the float. As the float rises and falls, the magnetic field causes the switch inside the stem to open or close. KOBOLD level switches can be mounted in the tank top or bottom, or can be adapted for side mounting. Switches will operate normally with up to a 30 degree tilt from vertical.

 NV - Liquid Level Switch

KOBOLD NV liquid level switches may be installed wherever a reasonably priced compact device is required for monitoring liquid levels. A cylindrical stainless steel float is located at one end of a horizontal balance arm. The float moves up and down with the liquid level. The float movements are transmitted through the balance arm to a permanent magnet at the opposite end. The magnet actuates a reed contact located within a moveable housing. The reed contact switches on or off depending on the position of the permanent magnet and the switch housing.

 OPT - Optical Level Switch

KOBOLD’s OPT level switch is well suited to act as a level limit detector for various process liquids. Its small geometry ensures a very low switching hysteresis of merely ±1 mm. Our optical design is free of any moving parts, thus increasing product reliability immensely. The unit is completely self-contained; both the LED light source and the photodetector are housed behind the same lens.

NQ - SS Ultrasonic Level Switch

KOBOLD’s NQ is a compact, ultrasonic level switch which activates when immersed in liquid. Its short intrusion length (1.42”) makes it the right choice for applications in which container size is limited. The NQ may be installed either as two or three wire controller. Voltages ranging from 24 to 240 VAC/VDC, 50/60 Hz may be controlled in the two wire configuration. Glass fibre reinforced nylon and 316 SS construction (in a NEMA 4X housing, of course!) make the NQ a tough performer in industrial applications.

NVI - Vibrating Level Switch for Solids

The NVI series vibrating level switch is an excellent choice for monitoring the level of powdered, granular or pelletized solids. The NVI unique design utilizes the resonance principle with a single smooth probe which will not foul when used with solids which tend to cake or coat. The insertion probe is made of 316 stainless steel to resist corrosion.

NGS - Heavy Duty Level Switch

The NGS series is hands down one of the toughest level switches on the market. The float and all other wetted parts are made of 316 stainless steel. The switch mechanism is activated by a permanent magnet external to the switch housing so that no penetrations exist between the process and the switch internals. This mode of operation results in a very reliable switch which requires no external power to operate.

NSE - Stainless Steel Float Level Switches

KOBOLD Series NSM, NSP, NSE and NST float switches enable liquid levels to be monitored easily. Filling levels may also be controlled by installing at least two floats, one as a minimum, the other as a maximum limit switch. The floats can be run to a latching relay (sold separately) for automatic level control. These switches can be installed wherever magnetic liquid level switches are unsuitable due to the risk of the float jamming with dirt particles or coating.
