 Welded Wire Assemblies

(Assembling Wire Products by Welding)

Of the myriad number of welding processes, only a few are of significance in the assembly of wire products. The union of wire to wire or wire to sheet metal can be affected in one of two general ways: by fusion or pressure. Fusions welds-such as those produced by arc welding equipment are most often made using filler metal without the application of pressure. Resistance welds-on the other hand, are consummated under pressure without filler rod and do not liquefy any portion of the parts being joined. Special jigs and fixtures hold the wire component parts in place during welding.

The selection of the proper material classifications, tolerances, surface finish, wire size, bend radii and the “finishing of wire products” is of utmost importance prior to starting a new wire design.

Pacific Wire Products engineering staff has extensive experience working with customers’s designs. Call or e-mail for help!
