Micron diamond, cubic boron nitride, and polycrystalline diamond are employed as abrasives today. These extremely hard materials are bonded with metal, resin, vitrified and electroplated bonds and can be found in abrasive products such as grinding wheels. Each requires an abrasive with specific characteristics to match the strength of the bond and the material being machined.
