Lead foil is a thin sheet of lead available in a range of thickness points. The foil exhibits high malleability as well as acid resistance, and is manufactured in sheets so slender a thickness that it can be cut with utility knife or scissors. A typical foil exhibits a composition of mostly lead and minute quantities of antimony and tin. It is also prominently used in a wide range of milling, etching and plating operations. The foils are also used as technical foils in most modern X-Ray and edge battery technologies. They are ideal as wrappers for tubes and containers that require protection from radioisotope of iodine.
