Fluor Selected for SaskPower Carbon Capture Engineering   Healthcare Facilities Adopt Green Energy with Solar Power Partners MILL
IRVING, TX (BUSINESS WIRE) - Fluor Corporation announced today that it was awarded front-end engineering for CO2 capture for the SaskPower Boundary Dam Integrated Carbon Capture and Sequestration Demonstration project in Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada. The contract value for the first quarter award was not disclosed. If the project proceeds as planned, it would be the first commercial-scale carbon capture system used on a coal-fired power plant in North America. SaskPower's project will transform the aging Unit 3 at Boundary Dam Power Station into a reliable, long-term producer of clean electricity while enhancing provincial oil production and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.   VALLEY, CA (BUSINESS WIRE) - Solar Power Partners, Inc. (SPPTM) today announced that two recently-completed solar systems at health care facilities in California are in operation and generating power. The solar systems include a 668.80 kW system at Marshall Medical in Cameron Park, CA, and a 226.80 kW system at St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley, CA. Each solar facility was financed and developed using a solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), which allows SPP to own, operate, and manage the solar system for the length of the agreement, usually over twenty years. The host sites pay only for the energy produced by the system and put no cash upfront, freeing capital for other projects and stabilizing their energy rates.

Xcel Energy's Bay Front Biomass Gasification Project   Honeywell Developing Low-Global-Warming-Potential Liquid Blowing Agent for Foam Insulation
Xcel Energy has filed an application for a Certificate of Authority with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW) to install biomass gasification technology at its Bay Front Power Plant in Ashland, Wis. When completed, the project will convert the plant's remaining coal-fired unit to biomass gasification technology, allowing it to use 100 percent biomass in all three boilers and making it the largest biomass plant in the Midwest. Currently, two of the three operating units at Bay Front use biomass as their primary fuel to generate electricity.   MAASTRICHT, THE NETHERLANDS - Honeywell announced it is developing a new low-global-warming-potential blowing agent for energy-efficient polyurethane foam insulation. The announcement was made at the UTECH Europe conference and expo held in Maastricht, The Netherlands, where polyurethane industry leaders gather every three years to discuss issues and opportunities facing the industry. "This product is another example of how our expanding low-global-warming product portfolio is both meeting our customers' needs and providing superior environmental performance," said Rene Mueller, managing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa for Honeywell Fluorine Products.

Jamaica Station Redevelopment Utilizes Daylight and GE Lamps to Create an Energy-Efficient, Low-Maintenance Lighting Solution   Delphi and Perko Agree to Exclusive Distribution Deal for Marine Evaporative Emissions Products
CLEVELAND, OH. - The gateway to JFK's AirTrain Light Rail airport access system is the Jamaica Station complex. The facility's vertical circulation building and new portal structure serve as an introduction to the region's most important airport. Using lamps from GE Consumer & Industrial, designers Domingo González, Nelson Downend and Mario Merza have created an energy-efficient and low-maintenance lighting design that reinforces passenger flow throughout the station and is compatible with architectural constraints. Daylight is supplemented with fluorescent lighting systems, controlled by photocell and astronomical time clocks to ensure that the right light levels are established throughout the station at all hours.   AUBURN HILLS, Mich. and MIAMI-Delphi Corporation and Perko, Inc., have entered into an agreement making Perko-a premier supplier of marine products-the exclusive distributor of Delphi's full line of Marine Evaporative Emissions Canisters. Delphi Marine Evaporative Emissions Canisters help limit the amount of gasoline vapors released into the environment from boats with built-in fuel tanks. A set of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations passed last September is changing the fuel-system requirements on all boats with fixed fuel storage.
