This new ‘milking’ process will join the company´s Cascading Production™ technique to create a combined cycle promising new efficiencies. Live Extraction™, or milking, is inherently efficient because it achieves continuous production of algae oil without destroying the algae cell. Therefore a single algae cell can produce more oil during its lifetime using lower amounts of energy. Unlike other approaches to live extraction, OriginOil´s process does not employ expensive consumables such as reverse osmosis membranes; furthermore, it is not limited to oil-bearing algae strains, such as Botryococcus braunii, that are known to excrete algae oil naturally.

Sanyo Partners with CCSE to Share Vision for a Greener California Through The Use of Renewable Energy   National Wind Solutions Expands with Acquisition of Biodiesel Plant
SAN DIEGO, CA - SANYO North America Corporation, a subsidiary of and the North American regional headquarters of SANYO Electric Co., Ltd., based in San Diego, has partnered with the California Center for Sustainable Energy (CCSE) to replace all traditional dry cell batteries in the CCSE´s facilities with SANYO NiMH ‘eneloop’ Rechargeable Batteries. This announcement follows SANYO´s recent donation of its ‘eneloop’ charging station to the CCSE in a proactive effort to achieve a more sustainable, environmentally responsible California and demonstrate practical ways companies can conserve energy. The SANYO ‘eneloop’ rechargeable battery is a product specifically designed to encourage reusing existing resources, as it is both rechargeable and recyclable, and ‘eneloop’ blurs the line between typical one-time use, dry cell batteries. ‘eneloop’ rechargeable batteries in comparison come pre-charged, hold up to 85% of the charge after one year of sitting on the shelf, and can be recharged up to 1,000 times.   HOUSTON -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- National Wind Solutions, Inc. announced the acquisition of a biodiesel plant in Atascosa County, Texas for $3 million dollars. This plant successfully produced biodiesel for commercial transportation uses before being mothballed due to high soybean oil prices. NWND expects to modernize the plant to reduce processing costs and to retrofit the plant to process less expensive feed stocks such as algae and Jatropha. Currently, nearly 70% of oil used in the United States is imported. Congress indicated strong support for the development of renewable, green fuels in America. Biodiesel can be produced from non-food plants such as algae and Jatropha. It is important to efficient alternative fuels production to build on low-cost, renewable sources of raw material that can be grown close to the processing plant. Older plants using soybean oil proved sensitive to commodity price spikes as prices for food stuffs increased.
