Eliminate Labor Costs, Increase Black Oxide Finishing Throughput Using Birchwood Casey's New Automated TRU TEMP Black Oxide System   Phoenix Contact's Screw Terminal Blocks Feature Integrated PE Foot
Eden Prairie, Minnesota: High quality black oxide finishes, with zero/minimal labor cost, are easily achieved when using the new Birchwood Casey CNC (computer numerically controlled) TRU TEMP® finishing system. The non-polluting, low temperature process is now available in a user-proven, integrated programmable hoist and tank line to automatically process iron and steel components with a high quality black oxide finish. Designed specifically for handling the patented TRU TEMP process, this self-controlled tank line eliminates the labor costs normally required with manual hoist lines. The CNC process line eliminates process guesswork and generates highly repeatable results. The standard, 110-gallon tank line system produces 4000 to 6000 lbs of finished parts per 8-hour shift and the line can be sized and configured to accommodate any volume of work or production capacity.   MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Phoenix Contact's screw-connection terminal blocks are now available with an integrated PE grounding foot. The integrated PE foot is available in 6.2 mm versions of the UT 4 knife disconnect, diode and fuse terminal blocks. The UT 4-PE series saves space while providing a reliable termination for grounding the shields commonly used in shielded twisted-pair wires for analog and digital sensors. The functional blocks also provide options to disconnect (HEDI) or use a universal lever-style fuse holder (HESI) for 5x20 plugs with or without light indication. A compact design with uniform dual-bridge channel delivers power distribution quickly and effectively with robust FBS push-in jumpers. The UT series is part of Phoenix Contact's CLIPLINE Complete system, which features standardized push-in bridging, marking and testing accessories for all connection technologies.

Free Tool Guides You to Right Statistical Analysis Every Time   Tokai Riki Mfg Streamlines Design Process and Reducing Man Hours by 20% with CATIA
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Statistics can be complicated and daunting, but the statistical analysis of data is at the heart of proven business improvement methods such as Lean and Six Sigma. As more businesses search for ways to boost efficiency—and profits—in the current economic climate, Minitab Inc. is offering a free tool on its Web site that can help quality professionals be sure they're making the best use of their data. Minitab's Method Chooser is set of interactive decision trees that walk you through the key choices in determining the most appropriate statistical tool. Each decision point includes brief but informative details and illustrations to help you make the right choice. "We developed the Method Chooser to help people involved in quality improvement find the statistical techniques that will give them the best, most meaningful information from the data they collect," says Michelle Paret, product manager at Minitab.   Tokyo, Paris - Dassault Systèmes, a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, announced that Tokai Riki Mfg. Co., Ltd. (RIKI) has deployed Dassault Systèmes' CATIA to streamline the design process while reducing man-hours by 20 percent. In addition, as a provider of key auto parts for major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in Japan, RIKI has also improved collaboration with customers by building a new design review system utilizing CATIA 3D data. As a manufacturer of auto parts such as wiper arms and blades, link motion part, and water valves, RIKI was facing pressure to meet automakers' requirements for design and quality while remaining cost-competitive. In the past, RIKI needed to convert 3D data provided by OEMs to 2D before any design could start, which generated extra time and effort. With the use of CATIA software, RIKI successfully migrated from 2D to 3D template-based design.
