Eriez Flotation Division Offers Variety of Flotation Column Cells for Cleaning, Roughing and Scavenging

Press Release:
Apr 4, 2014 — Erie, PA--- Column flotation has gained wide acceptance in the minerals industry as a technically sound and economical means for producing high purity products. The Eriez Flotation Division (EFD) now offers a complete line of column and hybrid flotation technologies engineered for coal and minerals processing industries.

The CoalPro® benefits coal producers with low capital and operating cost and ease of operation. The CoalPro with SlamJet sparging technology has no large aeration pumps, no large feed or re-circulation pumps and no downcomers with complex piping. This unit has patented CPT SlamJet® technology with automatic fail closure on loss of air. The CoalPro treats a variety of classified (150 x 45 micron) and unclassified (150 x 0 micron) raw coals to produce low-ash products. For a more aggressive approach, option the CoalPro with Cavitation-Tube sparging technology.

The PhosPro™ column flotation cells are an alternative to mechanical cells and well-suited to producing fine and ultra-fine phosphate concentrates. PhosPro flotation cells offer reduced power consumption and improved metallurgical performance. The cells also reduce reagent consumption with improved froth characteristics and lower the level of slimes generated within the flotation circuit.

The K-Pro™ Potash Recovery System provides effective, low-energy recovery of 500 micron potash particles. This flotation technology ensures a good mix of bubble size and a non-turbulent environment that promotes efficient bubble-particle contacting and adhesion. The K-Pro system also uses multiple circular internal launders to reduce the travel distance for loaded bubbles and further enhances coarse particle recovery.

In addition, the EFD StackCell® is a proprietary flotation system that concentrates the energy used for bubble generation into a compact volume. An impeller in the aeration chamber, located in the center of the cell, shears the air into extremely fine bubbles in the presence of feed slurry, promoting bubble-particle contacting. Unlike conventional, mechanically-agitated flotation cells, the energy imparted to the slurry is used solely to generate bubbles rather than to maintain particles in suspension. This leads to improved flotation rates and shorter residence times.
