NIST Announces the 2014 Baldrige Examiner Training Schedule

Press Release:
Oct 22, 2013 — As many current Baldrige examiners are planning schedules and budgets for the upcoming year, please note that in 2014 the Baldrige Program will offer three weeks of Baldrige examiner training in Gaithersburg, Maryland, with a fourth week of Baldrige examiner training to be hosted in California by the California Council for Excellence (CCE) in conjunction with its state examiner training. The training in California will replicate the training in Gaithersburg. CCE examiners who participate will remain state examiners. The dates and tuition (where applicable), are as follows:

National Baldrige Examiner Training in Gaithersburg, MD
Week 1:
Tuesday (for new, senior, and alumni examiners), April 22, through Friday, April 25, 2014
Wednesday (for all examiners), April 23, through Friday, April 25, 2014

Week 2:
Tuesday (for new, senior, and alumni examiners), April 29, through Friday, May 2, 2014
Wednesday (for all examiners), April 30, through Friday, May 2, 2014

Week 3:
Tuesday (for new, senior, and alumni examiners), May 6, through Friday, May 10, 2014
Wednesday (for all examiners), May 7, through Friday, May 10, 2014

As in past years, examiners will pay for their travel, hotel, and other associated costs.

National Baldrige Examiner Training in CA*
Week 4:
Tuesday (for new, senior, and alumni examiners),* May 13, through Friday, May 17, 2014
Wednesday (for all examiners), May 14, through Friday, May 17, 2014

Location: Southern California (venue TBD)

Tuition: $500 (to be paid to the California program). In addition, national examiners attending this training will pay for their travel, hotel, and other associated costs (as do participants in Gaithersburg).

The 2014 Baldrige Examiner Application will open on November 26 and close on January 9.

*The Baldrige Program hopes that proportionate numbers of new, senior, and alumni examiners will opt to enroll in the California training in order to ensure a "mirror" of the Gaithersburg training. If an insufficient number of examiners enroll in the Week 4 session, the national examiner portion of the training will be cancelled; affected examiners who selected that session would need to attend training in Gaithersburg instead. Therefore, when selecting preferred training weeks after being accepted to the Board of Examiners, those choosing Week 4 training in California will be asked to designate alternative choices during the first three weeks.
