The Ty-Rap® Deltec® Cable Tie and Support System is designed to tolerate harsh applications that include temperatures as low as minus 85 degrees Fahrenheit. “Bundling cable with conventional metallic lashing and strapping can be difficult and hazardous to install,” said Rachelle Weiss, product manager for Thomas & Betts. "These traditional metallic lashing and strapping solutions can nick or cut through cable insulation, which can cause dangerous and costly damage. These solutions also pose a safety hazard to installers and maintenance personnel. The need for a safer and easier installation method is what created the demand for the Ty-Rap® Deltec® Cable Tie and Support System, which has no sharp edges.” Comprised of three main parts, the Ty-Rap® Deltec® Cable Tie and Support System withstands harsh outdoor conditions, combining the strength and rigidity of an injection-molded head and marine-grade copper barbs with a soft, pliable and stress-resistant extruded acetal cable strap. In addition to its weather-resistant capabilities, the system’s separate head and strapping also allows installers to select the appropriate strap length for the application. The Ty-Rap® Deltec® Cable Tie and Support System also is safe and easy to install. The Ty-Rap® Deltec® Cable Tie and Support System offers high tensile strength, corrosion resistance and protection from exposure to ultraviolet radiation, moisture and salt. For aerial applications, the Ty-Rap® Deltec® Cable Tie and Support System is available with base hanger accessories where mounting is required. Preassembled systems are available with cable straps in standard lengths of 10, 13.5 and 27 inches. 50-foot and 3,500-foot reels are also available for applications in which the installer must establish specific lengths in the field.
