CNC machining is any method of production that employs a computer numerically controlled (CNC) system to control the machining process via instructions (in form of alphabets, digits, and symbols) generated by a processor. A CNC program stores instructions for machining a part in a memory system or storage media. This machine control technique eliminates the need of human intervention to control and direct the machining operation. Point-to-Point, open-loop, continuous path, and closed loop control systems are some types of CNC systems commonly used. The process is widely used in metalworking operations to minimize the production cost of machined parts.
