A cartridge dust collector is a model of dust collector that is ideal for purifying air loaded with fine or highly dense dust particles. Cartridge dust collectors are compact and are characterized by a large surface area and can be operated at a lower pressure drop unlike their counterparts, shaker collectors and pulse jet collectors. Cartridge dust collectors are further sub-divided into vertical cartridges and horizontal cartridges. The large surface area of the collector increases air flow, lessens cleansing frequency, and lowers resistance. They are employed in industrial powder applications involving lower air flow.
