About American Iron and Steel Institute:
 AISI serves as the voice of the North American steel industry. AISI's member companies represent over 75 percent of both U.S. and North American steel capacity.

For over a century, North American steel producers have left their day-to-day rivalries behind to work as partners and members of the American Iron and Steel Institute in furthering its mission to influence public policy, educate and shape public opinion in support of a strong, sustainable U.S. and North American steel industry committed to manufacturing products that meet society’s needs.

AISI's overall mission centers around common goals and a clear vision for the future. These are to:

Advocate for public policies that support a competitive environment for domestic manufacturing;

Provide high-quality, value-added products to a wide array of customers;

Lead the world in innovation and technology in the production of steel;

Produce steel in a safe and environmentally friendly manner;

Increase the market for North American Steel in both traditional and innovative applications.

AISI serves as the voice of the North American steel industry in the public policy arena and advances the case for steel in the marketplace as the preferred material of choice. AISI is comprised of 25 member companies, including integrated and electric furnace steelmakers, and 124 associate and affiliate members who are suppliers to or customers of the steel industry.
