We maintain a large, diverse inventory of hypodermic and fractional tubing of series 304, 304L, 316, and 316L, as well as specialty alloy products. Our tubular products are available in random mill lengths or custom cut pieces, ready to go.

Working with Bison means working with knowledgeable, experienced professionals who are committed to meeting your needs. We welcome the opportunity to discuss your project and earn your business.

HYPODERMIC TUBING

Standard hypodermic tubing is stocked in grades T304 and 316 Welded & Drawn stainless steel in the full hard condition. Custom tolerances, sizes and metals are available upon request.

FRACTIONAL TUBING

Fractional tubing starts at 1/32″ O.D. and continues in increments of 1/32″ to 3.00”. Available in T304/T304L & T316/T316L seamless or welded and drawn construction (annealed temper), fractional tubing is often used in commercial applications that require corrosion resistance and good strength. Normally available in commercial specifications (i.e. ASTM-A-269, A-213, A-249). Standard tolerances are ±0.005” OD and ±15% wall for sizes <0.50”. For 0.50” to <1.50” standard tolerances are ±0.005 OD and ±10% wall. For fractional tubing 1.50” and greater ” standard tolerances are ±0.010 OD and ±10% wall. Custom tolerances, sizes, metals and specifications are available upon request.

Used in many different industries ranging from medical to instrumentation applications. Welded and drawn can often be substituted for seamless because it usually has the same, if not better, appearance, tolerances and concentricity.

CUSTOM TUBING

Specialty shapes, engineered sizes and metallurgy are available by request. Custom OD, ID and wall thickness can be achieved in any tolerances you require. We can provide custom round, square, rectangular and irregular shapes to meet your needs.

METRIC TUBING

Metric tubing is stocked in seamless 304 and 316 stainless steel (annealed temper), from 1mm OD to 24mm OD with OD and ID tolerances of ±0.1 mm. Custom tolerances, sizes and metals are available upon request.

Commonly used with standard metric compression fittings, metric tubing can also be used in other commercial applications that require corrosion resistance, strength, and uniformity.

MEDICAL TUBING

Medical Quality tubing is manufactured from T316L certified stainless steel in ID’s from .020″ to .500″ with ±.001″ ID tolerances or .500″ to 1.000″ ID with ±.0015″ ID tolerances. Available in thin walls, “MQ” tubing is welded and mandrel drawn to approximately 1/8 – 1/2 hard temper, depending on the size.

Ideal for applications requiring tighter than normal tolerances. Some temper is added for applications that require more rigidity, such as in medical instrumentation. This material typically offers better ID finishes than stock material which is ideal for instrumentation applications.

PIPE

Pipe is manufactured to OD and wall dimensions. Generally available in any drawable metal or alloy with method of manufacture (seamless or welded) dictated by material, to OD/Wall ratio and wall thickness. Standards cover actual dimensions, tolerances, chemical and physical requirements.

Pipe is a tubular product intended primarily for such purposes as the conveying of water, fuel, gas, air, steam, etc. It has also been found to be a convenient form for use as structural members, such as columns and railings. Usually good for commercial applications.
