About Quality Steel Treating, LLC:
Started in 1946 as a family-owned business, Quality Steel Treating has grown into a national heat treat, brazing, nitriding and welding service provider, serving industries such as aerospace, manufacturing and auto racing. Our leadership team consists of expert metallurgists and industry professionals focused on continually improving Quality's service offerings, operational efficiencies and business practices. While we are located conveniently in Indianapolis, Indiana, customers from across the country partner with Quality Steel Treating for our advice and expertise, fast turnaround times and cost-competitive services. Our 35,000 square foot facility has capacity to operate 24-hours a day, seven days a week, allowing us to provide some of the fastest turnaround rates in the industry.

Our atmosphere treatments include argon gas, which provides an excellent environment for air-sensitive and exotic materials such as Titanium and Nickel-Based alloys. Beyond vacuum and tempering furnaces, Quality Steel Treating's (QST) facilities include a gas nitrider and modern brazing clean room. In addition to steel, our heat treating and brazing services can accommodate a wide range of metals and exotic alloys, including: Aluminum, Brass, Copper, Hastelloy, Inconel, Nickel-based alloys, pH13-8mo, Precious-metal alloys, Silver, Titanium, 17-4pH alloys and 15-5pH alloys.

Heat treating is a proven, cost-effective method for improving the overall performance and marketability of a product. Quality Steel Treating processes metal parts and components using high-temperature furnaces. These furnaces use intense heat to create unique beneficial qualities in the metal (much like a kiln cures pottery). The temperature often reaches thousands of degrees, altering the chemical or structural properties of the metal. Beneficial qualities that can be achieved through heat treating include:
• Softens
• Hardens
• Relieves Stress
• Improves ductility, wear resistance and machinability of parts

Heat treating carries several advantages for parts, components and final products:
• Improved overall performance
• Increased strength and ability to withstand high tolerances
• Enhanced long-term durability in extremely rigorous conditions
• Stress relief to increase life span and improve safety
