TUBE SERVICE COMPANY provides a tubular products distribution service that is second to none in the western United States. Founded more than two decades ago, Tube Service introduced the nations first high-tech computerized storage and retrieval systems in Santa Fe Springs and Milpitas. In money saved and orders facilitated, these million-dollar automated systems have proved themselves hundreds of times over to Tube Service's satisfied customers.
Tube Service's service centers specialize in storage, cutting to length, and marketing seamless and drawn over mandrel tubing (aluminum, stainless, carbon, and alloy) to meet the exacting needs of its manufacturer customers. Incoming tubing products are placed in cassettes to speed access and prevent surface damage. The tubing is stored on 135-ft-long by 32-ft-high steel racks, which can hold up to 12 millions pounds in 4000 different sizes in lengths up to 25 feet - all waiting for a computer-actuated retrieval command.
The computerized handling system, first of its kind in the U. S., reduces the time of conventional storage and retrieval by more than 50 percent and can perform as many as 25 round trips an hour.
With six strategically located tubular products service centers, Tube Service maintains unmatched inventories ready for your Just-in Time Delivery. The centers - in Santa Fe Springs, CA; Milpitas, CA; El Cajon, CA; Phoenix, AZ ; Portland, OR; and Denver, CO - operate from an IBM RS6000 computer system to speed product handling and inventory control.
With vast inventories from most major tube mills, with an experienced dedicated staff operating what is possibly the most efficient handling system in the nation, Tube Service has, in two decades, become an important source for tubular products.
