About Wm. W. Meyer & Sons, Inc.:
We develop, manufacture and sell "build to suit" material handling system components; including airlocks, slide gates, diverter valves, rotary plug valves, air blower paks, double flapgate valves and dry material injection screw pumps.

Meyer is dedicated to providing products, services and solutions of only the highest quality and value to the worldwide air and dry bulk solids processing market.

Our commitment is manifest by our ongoing efforts in new product development and investing in new machining tools as well as new CAD/CAM and CRM software systems. Ultimately, developing better methods and taking advantage of new technologies on the manufacturing floor results in higher quality products and added value for our customers.

Wm. W. Meyer & sons came into corporate existence in 1946, the outgrowth of the General Blower Company founded by Wm. W. Meyer, Sr. in 1933. General Blower manufactured centrifugal blowers for industrial ventilation, drying and other processes such as dust collection and gas boosting. General Blower also manufactured a specialized line of equipment to pneumatically convey bulk materials.

Meyer & Sons emerged as the service arm of General Blower and also began trading in used air moving equipment. Out of a small shop in Skokie, these machines were rebuilt and resold at a significant discount to comparable new equipment. However, in order to provide its growing customer base the option to purchase new machines, Meyer & Sons became an agent and distributor for other manufacturers of air and material processing equipment.

General Blower and Meyer operated concurrently until General Blower was sold in 1959. During that period, General Blower discontinued manufacturing and Meyer & Sons took on experienced people from General Blower and became a manufacturer in its own right. Meyer went on to develop and introduce a broader line of components for the process industry.

Early attention to prompt, personal customer service fueled expansion. Meyer became a recognized leader in the design, manufacture and application of rotary airlock feeders in particular. Other proprietary components for pneumatic conveying, dust collection, and bulk material feeding systems were successfully introduced in the ensuing years.
