Fab Masters Could Triple Employment in Marcellus

Press Release:
Aug 19, 2009 — Fab Masters Co. Inc., based in Marcellus, employs 87 workers and could add 160 more jobs if it wins four U.S. Department of Defense contracts. Based on those plans, the state announced Tuesday that it would provide Michigan Business Tax credits for up to seven years for all new jobs created by Fab Masters.

Attempts Tuesday to contact company owner, Ron Troxell, were not successful.

Fab Masters will invest $8.4 million if it wins the contracts, and may build an additional facility to accommodate the work, according to the MEDC.

In April 2008, Fab Masters celebrated the opening of a 31,000-square-foot addition to its Marcellus plant, bringing its total size to 90,000 square feet. At that time, Troxell said the company employed about 120 workers.

The company makes a variety of aluminum products for the transportation, medical, telecommunications and energy industries, according to the company's Web site.
