Fineblanked stampings use a process that carves characteristics such as flatness or a full-sheared edge on a workpiece, to a precision impossible to be attained by a conventional punching or metal cutting process. Products featuring a precise finish as well as a clean sheared surface, characteristics hardly possible to be etched out in normal processes, are obtained by employing this process. An added advantage of this methodology is that the fine finish and the shearing operations are accomplished in a single operation.
