Rubber gaskets are a sealing medium used for forming tight seals between two components. The compressibility property of these gaskets allows for their exact fitting into the required gap thereby ensuring a rigid and secure seal that prevents leaks. Usually rubber sheet materials are cut to produce these gaskets; however several synthetic rubbers such as PVC (polyvinyl chloride), TPRs (thermoplastic rubbers), neoprene, Nitrile (NBR) and Viton are also used for their fabrication apart from rubber.
