Rubber gaskets are a sealing medium used for forming tight seals between two components. The compressibility property of these gaskets allows for their exact fitting into the required gap thereby ensuring a rigid and secure seal that prevents leaks. Usually rubber sheet materials are cut to produce these gaskets; however several synthetic rubbers such as PVC (polyvinyl chloride), TPRs (thermoplastic rubbers), neoprene, Nitrile (NBR) and Viton are also used for their fabrication apart from rubber. Gaskets of this type are used in transportation industries, heavy equipment, construction, HVAC applications and appliances.
