Automatic Fallback Switch, You Select the Trigger Signal with M7387

Press Release:
Jan 19, 2010 — Electro Standards Laboratories (ESL), Cranston, RI, announces the new Pathway ® Model 7387 Single Channel RS232 DB25 A/B Switch with Fallback and Remote Port. The M7387 network switch allows the sharing of a single interface device among 2 other devices and may be switched manually, remotely or automatically.

This 2-position DB25 switch may be programmed via DIP switch settings to use either the RD signals or the DCD signals as triggers for automatic switching. All switched signals are passed via latching copper contact relays that maintain their position and continuity even in the event of a power loss. When power is restored, unit loads previous position and mode of operation while checking DIP switch setting and remote port to determine the correct startup configuration. Users can also override automatic fallback operation from the front panel or remote port and force the unit to operate as an A/B switch (RS232 Fallback Switch).

Government Agencies contact Electro Standards for GSA pricing on COTS (Commercial-Off-The-Shelf) network switches.
