| | Aug 3, 2009 — Electro Standards Laboratories (ESL), Cranston, RI, has just announced its new QuickSwitch Model 4193 which allows users to access any one of eight separate fiber optic networks by simply pushing a button on the front panel of the unit. This simple pushbutton switching eliminates plugging and unplugging fiber optic patchcords, minimizing connector wear and increasing system reliability. The fiber optic/twisted pair media conversion is built right in!
M4193 also insures isolation between networks/devices with its internal circuitry. The Common port converts the selected fiber optic network port to the 100BaseTX interface. This efficient network switch acts as a signal source with no optical signal loss. All eight network ports are 1300nm 100Mbps ST duplex multimode fiber with SC duplex available. A 4-port model of this unit is also available.
