 Standard Dowel (DOW): A cylindrical solid pin with a chamfered end for easy insertion. Dowel pins are commonly used to retain parts in a fixed position or to preserve alignment.

 Oversized Dowel (DOWO): Manufactured to the same exacting standards and standard dowel pins except diameters are + .001" nominally oversized. Use in out of round holes or with soft compatible materials.

 Pullout (DOWP): Manufactured to same ASME standards as standard dowels, with a threaded hole at one end. The threaded hole allows for the installation of a T-handle wrench to assist in removal.
