Automatic Fallback Switch Offers both 10 BASE-T Remote Port and GUI

16 Dec 2008 — Electro Standards Laboratories (ESL) has announced the new Model 7339 Cat5e RJ45 A/B Automatic Fallback Switch with 10 BASE-T LAN Telnet Access and GUI. This A/B network switch allows the user the capability of sharing one workstation or device among two other devices connected to the A and B ports with remote access functionality. Remote access can be accomplished using an Ethernet 10/100-Base-T connection and either Telnet commands or Graphical User Interface (GUI). This unit offers the security of Automatic Fallback mode, monitoring data is active on Port A and if activity is lost, the unit checks for data on Port B and in the presence of data, switches to position B. It will maintain its connection to port B until data activity is detected on port A, at which time the unit will automatically return to the A position. This can be overridden.

11 Dec 2008 — Electro Standards Laboratories (ESL) announces the new Model 4154 HP Fiber Repeater with RS232 Monitor Port. This Fiber Optic Repeater is used to regenerate data signals in order to extend the range between optically linked data terminals. It also has the capability to monitor network traffic via an RS232 Monitor Port. The fiber optic communication standard also allows data transmission that is no longer susceptible to electrostatic or electromagnetic fields. Additionally, the RS-232 monitor port is protected from damage by potential differences (ground variations) that often exist between them. This Repeater provides full galvanic isolation (no metallic connection) between connected devices and allows the interference-free fiber optical transfer of data to be regenerated and its range extended.

Low Cost Self-Acting Temperature Control Valves

Anderson, a division of Dwyer Instruments, Inc., has released the Series 38R Self-Acting Temperature Control Valves that require no external power sources and are ideal for regulating the temperature of tanks, process streams and various types of industrial equipment. The actuators are made with a rugged die-cast aluminum housing with a fully enclosed bellow assembly and internal over-range protection. Valves are offered in 1/2" through 6" connection sizes and 1/8" through 6" port sizes. The valve bodies are available in single-seated direct or reverse-acting, double-seated direct or reverse-acting, and 3-way designs with four choices of body material: bronze, cast iron, cast steel, and 316 stainless steel.

19 Nov 2008 — Electro Standards Laboratories (ESL) has announced the Model 7353 Tri-Channel RJ45 Cat 5 A/B/Off-Line Switch with exclusive Remote Contact Control. This network switch allows access to two separate devices through a device connected to the Common port for each of the switch's three channels. The Model 7353 with Cat 5 Compliance uses contact control to switch the position of each individual channel. There is no front panel pushbutton control. Each channel is an individual switch that is commanded separately from the other switches in the unit, and each will switch to Off-Line upon power loss. All pins of the RJ45 interface are switched and switch ports are transparent to all data.

14 Nov 2008 — After trying a number of methods that didn't work, the Army used two AutoDrill 2100 series machines to successfully demilitarize over 40,000 rounds of obsolescent tank shells from the Vietnam era. The drills were used to remove pyrotechnic tracer material from the base of the projectile. The resulting inert material comprised several hundred tons of aluminum and steel which were then recycled.

The Model CDD monitors the occupancy in a room by detecting the concentration of carbon dioxide in the return air duct. The non-dispersive infrared sensing technology automatically updates the calibration of the transmitter using a proprietary logic feature which limits the amount of error due to drift.
