QuadraTherm introduces the first four-sensor thermal mass flow meter design—three precision platinum temperature sensors and one patented DrySense mass velocity sensor backed by a lifetime warranty. The flow meter is available in aninsertion version and an inline version.
 
Impossible to achieve with a traditional two-sensor design, the four-sensor QuadraTherm measures all thermal heat transfers occurring and works in harmony with our proprietary iTherm algorithm set to solve the First Law of Thermodynamics (for thermal dispersion technology) in a fraction of a second for each mass flow data point.  The instrument measures, then calculates stem conduction and all other unwanted heat loss components, subtracts them out, and then computes gas mass flow rate from the remaining forced convection (gas mass flow) component.
 
iTherm is also the "Brain" behind the flowmeter's capability to change gas (Dial-A-Gas) and pipe size (Dial-A-Pipe) in the field, while also allowing gas updates to the instrument via the internet which connects to the most up-to-date gases in our proprietary iTherm Gas Library.
 
The QuadraTherm 780i inline version achieves accuracy of +/- 0.5% of reading making it the most accurate thermal meter in the world. Our award-winning Innova-Mass® Model 240 can measure the mass flow rate of any gas or liquid and are ideally suited for saturated or superheated steam. Our multivariable Technology allows one instrument and one process connection to measure FIVE process parameters at the same time to simultaneously measure mass flow rate, temperature, pressure, volumetric flow rate, and fluid density.
 
The Innova-Mass cryogenic version has undergone extensive testing and field validation over the last several years proving that the meter is preferred versus traditional turbine meters for measuring mass flow rates of cryogenic fluids down to -328°F (-200°C).  Using a special cryogenic temperature RTD, mass calculations are done with the latest density equations of state for liquid Oxygen, Nitrogen, Argon, and CO2.
 
The Model 240 is fully field-programmable, configurable and feature RS485, MODBUS or HART protocols.

Large Duct and Stack High-Performance Multi-Point Mass Flow
 
Sierra's Multi-Trak™ Model 670S is an advanced state-of-the-art instrument for measuring mass flow rates in very large ducts or stacks that have non-uniform velocity profiles, high turn-down requirements, dirty gas streams, wide temperature ranges and fast velocity and temperature changes. The Multi-Trak™ dynamically compensates for changes in the flow profile by using up to four independent mass flow sensing points to measure the instantaneous average gas mass flow velocity. The Multi-Trak™ is commonly used in petrochemical refining, coal-fired electric power generation, steel manufacturing and many other industrial processes that face the challenge of accurate and repeatable gas mass flow measurement in very large pipes or ducts.
 
An innovative, versatile and user-friendly microprocessor-based Human Machine Interface (HMI) controls all functions of the Multi-Trak™system. The HMI is used to collect, visualize and store flow data, as well as set up the individual sensor points, thus allowing the entire system to be easily configured in the field. The Multi-Trak™ HMI integrates the functions of flow measurement, flow-range adjustment, field validation and diagnostics, and displays mass flow rate and totalized flow, as well as other configuration variables. All of this data is easily programmable from the HMI's easy-to-use touch screen.
 
Unlike single probe insertion sensors where each sensor point is on the same insertion probe, each Multi-Trak™ sensor point is completely independent of the others, allowing for easy field swap-out or cleaning of individual transmitters.

Ultra High Purity In-line Mass Flow Meter with Flow Condit
 
Our Ultra High Purity Model 780S-UHP is the industry-choice for bulk gas distribution service in semiconductor fabs, in pharmaceutical production and other ultra-clean processes. Real-time monitoring of gas usage provides reliable information on consumption and usage patterns in the manufacturing area and may be used for both billing and diagnostic purposes. The Model 780S-UHP is constructed with 316L electropolished tubing in choice of 7-10 Ra (UHP) or 20-25 Ra (HP) interior.
 
The Model 780S-UHP is available in pipe sizes from 1/2-inch up to 12-inches and are offered with Buttweld connections and a VCR probe-connection fitting.  Larger line sizes are available upon request.  The Model 780S-UHP also features Sierra's unique dual-plate flow conditioning element to eliminate velocity profile distortions as well as swirl and temperature stratification in the gas stream. This product reduces piping straight run requirements to as little as three upstream diameters.  As a result, you save money on installation costs when compared to an orifice-plate where least 20 upstream piping diameters are required for optimal performance.
 
In addition, the Model 780S-UHP features Sierra's well-known Smart Electronics Package for field-rangability, field flow-range adjustment, and field validation and diagnostics.  The Model 780S has outstanding low-velocity sensitivity and exceptional accuracy.
 
The Model 780S-UHP has very low pressure drop, and wide turndown. The Model 780S-UHP is hazardous area approved by CSA and CRN (Canada), FM (USA), ATEX, CE and PED (EU), IEC Ex (Australia), GOST R (Russian Federation) and Chinese Pattern Approval (China). Meter accuracy is +/ 1% of reading plus +/-0.5% of full scale with repeatability of +/- 0.2% of full scale.

As a certified greenhouse gas (GHG) air flow meter, the Steel-Mass:

 InnovaMass® Cryogenic
Accurate Liquefield Gas Measurement
 
Our customers needed an advanced and more reliable measurement system to accurately measure the delivery of cryogenic gas to the rapidly growing liquefied gas market. The volumetric turbine meters traditionally used could not meet the accuracy requirements of a mass flow device. Lower accuracy meant under billing and lost revenue. As a result, a cryogenic version of the InnovaMass® 240 multivariable mass vortex flow meter was developed as an ideal solution for this challenging application. The instrument has undergone extensive testing and field validation over several years on cryogenic gas delivery trucks proving to be preferred versus traditional turbine meters.
 
The 240 cryogenic version measures the mass flow rate of cryogenic fluid down to -330°F (-200°C). Using a special cryogenic temperature RTD, mass calculations are done with the latest density equations of state for liquid oxygen, nitrogen, argon, and carbon dioxide. The 240 excelled in accuracy performance and has the added benefit of no moving parts to wear out or be serviced like a turbine meter. Customers now get a more reliable, stable reading and an increased service life.
